His sixth CD release "Flight 408" in the USA - is a mixture of modern and smooth urban ambient jazzscapes with the spirit of contemporary hip hop rhythm and melodic lines, featuring members of his current touring band and talented singer Lisa Shaw from London, UK.
The cd contains nine new compositions by C.S. and a cover version of the old time classic"Sunny" as well as an intstrumental version of Shanice´s R&B hit "I love your smile".
Christoph Spendel has been the keyboardist for Special EFX and the Fantasy Band for several years. He has also performed with Lee Ritenour, Nelson Rangell, Chuck Loab, Marion Meadows, Chieli Minucci, Dave Valentin, Alphonze Mouzon, Dave Samuels, George Jinda and lots of other great musicians from around the world.

Christoph Spendel belongs to the leading Jazz pianists and keyboard players in Germany. He became famous working with the band "Jazztrack" in the 70´s and in the 80´s he was able to establish a name world wide with his own projects. He has worked with many famous musicians from the German and international Jazz scene musicans like Albert Mangelsdorf, Charlie Mariano, Wolfgang Schlüter, Randy Brecker, Dave Liebman, Jeremy Steig, Bill Evans and many more. For the Goethe Institute he undertook many international tours in Canada, Israel, Scandinavia and Turkey. In the 90´s he spent a few years in New York as band member of "Special EFX".
To his career highlight he counts performances at the Philharmony in Berlin, a TVproduction in Switzerland together with Lee Ritenour and Don Grusin and a piano performance for the German piano manufacturer Schimmel at the NAMM Show in Los Angeles. In 1997 he produced the order composition "The Three Worlds" for the radio station WDR in Israel and USA. In the same year, he was invited as solo piano artist to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Christoph Spendel is teaching Jazz and Pop music at the Music Conservatory in Frankfurt, Germany. Since 1997 he is member of the piano duo "Jazz meets Classic" together with Ratko Delorko, he works in a duo together with guitar player Michael Sagmeister and leads the Christoph Spendel Electric Band. His trio with Kurt Bilker and André Nendza supported him in this Christmas production. Christoph Spendel has many productions available. His last production "Flight 408" has even been released with great success in Japan.
