Jazzamor „Reworks – 20 Years Of Jazzamor“
For two decades, Jazzamor have been creating imaginary places of longing with their laid-back of jazz, bossa nova and lounge music. After ten studio albums and two best-of compilations, the duo are now celebrating its founding anniversary with a very special showcase: On “20 Years Of Jazzamor”, Bettina Steingass and Roland Grosch present selected songs from all creative periods as exclusive reworks, remixes and unreleased edits. The compilation is complemented by a brand new track, with which Jazzamor now the next chapter!
They see themselves as a a lively alternative to elitist jazz purism, to which Jazzamor with their open-minded head cinema crossover of experimental jazz, exotic bossa nova sounds and relaxed lounge influences since their foundation in the early 00s.
Originally emerging from a jazz quartet, Bettina Steingass and Roland Grosch spent a good year in the studio after the break-up to think about new forms of musical expression which the duo soon recorded on their highly acclaimed debut album „Lazy Sunday Afternoon”.
Jazzamor’s songs can now be heard in the hippest bars and clubs from Los Angeles to Ibiza to Hong Kong, while the duo has almost 100k monthly Spotify listeners. After ten studio albums and two best-ofs, the formation is now looking back in the form of a very special retrospective: “20 Years Of Jazzamor” contains eleven hand-picked tracks from all release phases, newly arranged, remixed, mastered and modernized by Bettina Steingass and Roland Grosch. The reworks are completed by the brand new
track “The Autumn Dismay”, on which an electronic bossa nova beat is set to an autumnal vocal melody about the past, while the
old bossa phrase “Dabadabadab” as a reminder of the “Girl from Ipanema” times of the 1960s travels along in the mind.
