Hans Georg Belz (JingleBelz) – german composer, arranger, music producer, songwriter,
pianist, keyboarder und docent – learned his first instrument, the accordeon, at the age of 8
at the Jugendmusikschule in Siegen. Because of his talent he received a fellowship.
During the „hot“ beat age in the 60th he switchted to e-guitar und worked in a beatband
as a guitarrist und singer.
At the age of 21 he discovered the piano, especially the e-piano. Later he took use of
synthesizers and other electronic equipment.
Firstly Hans attended to free improvisations within a 5 head-group und was additionally
a member of serveral bands, furthermore he played in pubs alone or with a guitarist as a duo.
Together with oboist and keyboarder Tobias Becker he created underscores for events
in art and culture.
At the end of the 70th Hans spended some time on jazz und took lessons by jazzpianist Frank
Wunsch. 1984 he met his great idol, the famous german pianist, composer and professor
Christoph Spendel. After a successful intensive collaboration has developed a lasting friendship
until nowadays.
Further projects were: keyboarder of the rhytm `n soul-group „Shake Well“ and the jazzrock-group
„Separate Minds“ with guitarists Peter Autschbach and Uwe Sommer. And last but not least he was
and is actually member of „PAAN II“, a band that loves and plays the music of the legendary
„Crusaders“.
1984 he founded his firm „tonwerk“, a music production for movies und commercials.
He made among others music for fashion-videos of the „Frankfurter Fachverlag“, for
commercials and events for AUDI, FORD, Mercedes Benz, Vichy, Mitsubishi Motors, Ellen Betrix,
Aventis and many more.
1996 began his cologne-years: In the recordingstudio on the Breslauer Platz he composed music
for tv-movies of ARD, WDR und ZDF (Terra X) : „Katja Kay und Bente Bent“ (series for children),
„Der Biedermann“, „Tod dem Verräter“, „Unternehmen Romeo“, „Der SS-Mann“, (prizewinning of
goldmedal of the New York-Festival) „Talking Food“ (WDR) are some examples of his work.
Several tv-commercial were next: Mobilat, Fagorutin, Hametum, Vivisun, Omnival, Baldriparan,
Antistax mentened among others.
With partner Werrner Fredebold (fredbold & partner GmbH) he produced quantites of radio
commercials for example for INNOVA, Berlin, Saturn, Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung
and they made together many audiobooks.
The famos german wildlife filmmaker Hans-Jürgen Zimmermann ordered some scoringtracks:
„Jagd nach dem grünen Diamanten“, „ Geheimnisse des Waldes“, „Unsere Tierwelt“ (ZDF), for
cinema: „Deutschlands wilde Vögel“, „Birds & People“ and many others.
Hans always is in fond of writing songs, especially writing company-songs: He made this
mainly for LTU (airline), Mitsubishi Motors, Siemens, FORD, ML-Consulting, Druckerei Wilke,
facts & fiction (eventagents), Deichmann, ICL, RITTAL
And songs also are the subjects of the arrangements he did and still actually does for „atrice“-
music productions, Beatrice Hesse, composer, lyricist and music producer.
Today he lives with his partner and his daugther in the small german town Siegen and
beside his jobs as a composer, arranger, and keyboarder he teaches scoringmusic and other musically themes at the mediaschool „BM“, Cologne and at the SAE-Institutes in
Cologne and Frankfurt
